Safety & Security

Ministry Objective (what):
To help provide safe and secure facilities and campus to those that God sends to us as well as give proper attention and watch over the resources we have been blessed with.

Biblical Support (why):
I Chronicles 9:23-27 tells of the gatekeepers that were assigned to the temple. Specific duties included guarding the entry ways and to open up each morning. (v.27) This assignment and duty indicates that the contents of the temple were at some risk and needed the special attention. Ours is no different. The things that God has blessed us with to use for ministry and reach people for Him are worthy of our best care.

Ministry Action (how):
Our facilities are open each weekday at 6am and remain open until 10pm. Saturday and Sundays we open at 7am and remain open until 9:30pm. All locking and unlocking is done by the Security staff that covers approximately 110 hours per week. Regular physical tours of the campus are conducted as well as responding to day to day needs as they arise.

The Department of Safety and Security exist, not only to keep watch over the grounds, facilities, resources and people, but also to "Bless the Lord" as it says in Psalm 134. It is our desire to honor God in all situations and our prayer is that our actions and words would be pleasing to him.

Our responsibilities have certainly expanded with the addition of the New Worship Center in September of 2004. We are currently maintaining a 24 hour watch over our campus which includes 4 total buildings and approximately 90 acres of land. Events and activities here at First Baptist Church Woodstock have reached a frequency never before seen and continue to multiply. We have recently opened a new community playground named Kidzstock that is very appealing to the surrounding area and brings many folks to our campus.
