Food Services

Ministry Objective (what):
Our objectives in the Food and Banquet Services Ministry are threefold:

1. We desire to serve all ministries at FBCW through Food and Banquet Services in such a way that their events and their ministries are enhanced by what we contribute.
2. We desire to minister to people through Food and Banquet Service. Whether it is in the Solid Rock Café or through the kitchen, we are blessed to provide sustenance, service and wonderful opportunities of fellowship.
3. The Food Service Ministry also desires to be fiscally sound. It is our hope to make a profit through the Solid Rock Café and through providing Food Service to various partner events. We will invest this money back into the Food Service and Banquet Ministries or allow it to be used for other needs in the church.

Biblical Support (why):

1. As it relates to providing Food and Banquet Services to the ministries of FBCW we claim Philippians 2:4 as our biblical support“ …let each esteem others better than themselves”. We do desire to humble ourselves and serve the ministries that God has grown at FBCW.
2. As it relates to ministering to people through Food and Banquet Services, we claim I Peter 4:9 “Be hospitable to one another without complaint”. We truly do want to show Christian hospitality to those who come our way. Even to the point of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Ministry Action (how):

1. The Solid Rock Café is open Monday through Thursday from 10am until 2pm and also for special occasions included Wednesday evenings in the summer. Three individuals typically man the Café. The effectiveness of this ministry tool must be improved.
2. The Banquet Server Ministry provides servers for ministry banquets and dinners. They dress in their black pants, white shirts and black ties and serve the attendees with excellence. It is a wonderful enhancement to the Food Service Ministry.
3. The Kitchen assists in the selection of meals and food and drink items for events which the ministries of FBCW desire to carry out as well as partner events. And, of course food and drink are provided with excellence and hospitality.

People Needs (how many):
The Café could use 2 –3 volunteers during their standard hours. Currently we are enjoying about 24 hours per week of volunteer labor. The Banquet Server Ministry has a long list of volunteers; however new, dedicated volunteers are greatly welcomed. The Kitchen is blessed with wonderful volunteers; additional servants for prep on Wednesday evenings and for daily activities would be wonderful. Special events are covered.

Effectiveness:
I believe we are effective at meeting the food service needs of the ministries. However, we desire to be more intentionally loving and evangelistic in all areas of food service.
