Deaf Ministry

The Bible states, “The Heavens declare the glory of God and the earth shows forth His handiwork.“  Jesus said, “He that has ears to hear – Let him hear.”  Mel Gibson’s movie, The Passion of the Christ, opened many people’s eyes, showing them the depth of God’s love through the suffering and ultimate death of His son Jesus, who died for the forgiveness of our sin.

God communicates to us through His written Word, and the Hearing Impaired Ministry of First Baptist Church Woodstock.  Our services are interpreted for the hearing impaired.

The stars, the universe, pastors, people, interpreters—we are merely vessels honored to have God speak through us, allowing Him to touch and change the heart of mankind.  Jesus said that if we drink of the “Living Water,” we will never thirst again.  The Deaf hear “visually,” yet they recognize the voice that speaks silently to their heart is that of our Heavenly Father.  God himself speaks through the hands and fingers of the interpreter and writes on the hearts and souls of His people.
